In general, technologies (such as XML) are supported through NLINK® eXtenders® while support for a particular vendor’s implementation of technology (such as SAP’s BAPIs and RFCs) is supported through NLINK CoNNectors®. Each application that has access to NLINK is called, in NLINK terminology, an External System. The NLINK Server is connected to external systems through CoNNectors and eXtenders.
NLINK CoNNectors connect the NLINK Server to a particular external system, (i.e. NLINK CoNNector for SAP). NLINK CoNNectors are extremely simple to create and contain absolutely no formatting, mapping, transformation, data routing or business logic.
The following list represents some of the NLINK CoNNectors that are available:
- SAP R/3 and SAP ECC CoNNector
- Oracle Applications CoNNector
- Avantis.PRO CoNNector
- Wonderware Mobile Solutions IntelaTrac CoNNector
- Loftware Connector for SAP
- Lloyds Register Capstone RBMI CoNNector
- WAM Systems Picaso CoNNector
NLINK eXtenders extend the capability of the NLINK Server by allowing it to communicate through a variety of communications mechanisms, protocols and standards that are not specific to any particular product, (i.e. Web Services, XML, SQL, Flat File, etc.).
